I returned from PNG day before yesterday. I can see that God has indeed worked a lot. We got picked up from the airport and since then, our schedule was packed. We provided them with mind lectures. I was so thankful.
Now they would like to provide us with some land so that we can build centre for the IYF to deliver further mind lectures. The department of Correctional Services have helped us a lot.
The ambassador from the Korean embassy however, warned me about the dangers of PNG. He showed me newspaper articles of how foreigners were killed because the locals wanted to get money from them. In short, he asked me to beware. So as I heard this, I was initially struck by it. But in the end, I concluded that if the Lord wills for me to be there, then I have to be there.
As I am led by the Word of God in the church, I am so thankful about being led away from the situation.
There is a lady I am aware of who is very suspicious of her husband cheating on her. She would accused him of sleeping with another lady next apartment. However, she could never prove it and it was really only her own thoughts.
Folks, just like how the people come in and out of the railway station, our thoughts – perhaps 50,000 of them come in and out of our brains. If someone dwells in the station, then that person is most likely homeless. Likewise, thoughts should not dwell permanently in you.
There is a person called Kim Ki Sung. He was in high school and he apparently stole garlic twice. He hands his gang and they did it together. When they all got caught, he told his friends that it was only him who was responsible so that everyone else did not have to suffer the penalties. And so he was jailed for 6 months and only he was jailed. As he was released, he felt really embarrassed. But at the entrance of the village, some elders were sitting there. One of them raised his thumb to Ki Sung saying “Ki Sung, you will become a great man”. And since then, this heart entered him. Even though he was working in a small place doing some cleaning work, he was complaining that he was someone who should not be doing cleaning work. As time passed, he got into gangs and eventually he killed someone. Later on, while he was in jail, he realised that kind of person he was. He realised that the voice he heard “You will become a great man!” got into him and exalted him so much. He had been deceived.
When the prodigal son also realised how his own thoughts deceived him, he returned to the father in his heart and he said “Father, I have sinned before heaven and in your sight”.
Sin is being departed from God. This was something the prodigal son realised.
Consider Peter who toiled all night long but could not catch any fish. When he listened to the Word of Jesus and finally let down his net and caught so many fish, he could confess that he was a sinful man.
Not many people can see their own sin. Sin is trusting in oneself and not having the same heart with God.
Folks, please you must also have this confession of sin in your lives.
Let me now tell you the reason why we did the Christmas Cantata. Apparently a pastor had told me that there was no point doing the Christmas Cantata with lip sync. However, as I thought about it more over time and time again, I realised that this was not good. I was confined by this thought. So we did the Christmas Cantata. As we did it, then we could see how there were so many people who came. I then saw my sin clearly – I did not do the Christmas Cantata earlier. I felt so sinful before the Lord.
We did the Cantata again in Hurstville. The seats were almost full. Out of 1,000 seats approximately, about 800 people came. I was so thankful to the Lord.
Our thoughts drag us and deceive us.
“For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.”
Romans 5:19 NKJV
You know who the “one person” is referring to.
There is Judas Iscariot who sold Jesus Christ. He was deceived by Satan to do so. However, after Jesus died, he felt so remorseful and returned the money to the high priest. But they said to him, “You see to it”. And so Judas hung himself and died.
Folks, who got condemned? Judas! This is a problem. Basically, the person who committed sin should be responsible for their sins. So who is the one who committed sin? Is it you? If it is you, then you are responsible. But in fact, if you believe that it is the devil who made you sin, then you will not be condemned.
“And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.”
I Corinthians 15:45 NKJV
There are two Adams in the bible. The first Adam was a living being and the last Adam became a life-giving spirit. The last Adam is thus Jesus Christ.
“He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.”
Hebrews 9:26 NKJV
It is true that Jesus has washed away all our sins. This Jesus is our last Adam. Because of Adam, sin entered the world. And Jesus Christ, our last Adam, washed away all our sins. Because of the effort of Jesus Christ, all sins are gone.
Jesus has washed away our sins eternally. If the word “eternally” is not in your heart, then you will still say that you have sins.
There are people who are constantly worried about the future. There are some who constantly work for their own future. I am not saying working is wrong, but fundamentally, from their heart, there is no God.
When you look at yourself through the eyes of God, you are nothing. If you truly believe this then you will only lean on God.
“Therefore God dealt well with the midwives, and the people multiplied and grew very mighty.”
Exodus 1:20 NKJV
The midwives feared God.
“And so it was, because the midwives feared God, that He provided households for them.”
Exodus 1:21 NKJV
We all want to receive such provisions from God. But there is one condition – fear of the Lord. Do you fear the Lord? If you do, then you can truly be blessed. If you want to fear God, then you have to ignore your thoughts and the commandments of the king. Consider Daniel’s friends Shadrach, Meschach and Abed Nego who were thrown into the burning fiery furnace. Then you will feel the Lord to your skin.
In 2008, we had to make the kimchi for over 1,000 people. We tried to use the cheese factory of elder Frank’s boss but was initially denied. His boss said “This is not a kimchi factory but a cheese factory” and he slammed the door. We truly felt that God had to lead us. So in the end, we prayed and eventually, as we visited the boss’s house, he allowed us and we could use the cheese factory.
In your life, establish the will of God.
What is faith? Accept the Word of God is faith.
“Rise, take up your bed and walk” was what the man with infirmity for 38 years heard from Jesus and he just accepted it.
Pastor Ock Soo Park was being sued and claimed by many as heretics. He spoke to pastor Lim – “Pastor Lim, are we heretics?” And pastor Lim said “No! We are not”. Then pastor Park asked “Then what are you doing?” And so pastor Lim got it. Right away, he went to the broadcasting station that had broadcasted a documentary of us as heretics. Pastor Lim was able to fight for the mission and obtain and apology out of the broadcasting station. The apology was published noting that we were not heretics and nor was pastor Park. As he accepted the heart from pastor, he was able to see how God worked.
In your life, do not trust your thoughts but appreciate that they are wrong.
